Over Peer Group Guide
Good information about selective membership organizations is scattered, partial and usually written to sell something. An organization's own site states the criteria it wants to state and rarely the fee. Forum threads hold real experience buried under years of argument. The comparison articles that rank first in search are, for the most part, lead-generation pages that copied their figures from one another.
Peer Group Guide exists to organise what is actually known. Every organization is a structured record: who it admits, according to what it publishes; what it costs, where that is disclosed; how it is structured — forums, chapters, events, online; where it operates; how its rules have changed; and which named sources each fact came from, with the date it was checked. Every profile is one permanent page, also served as JSON and Markdown from the same record.
On top of the database sit three instruments. The comparison engine puts any two or three organizations side by side from the same rows the profiles use. The qualification tool reads every published criterion against a profile you give in ranges and returns a ranked list with the reasons. And an editorial layer — guides, comparisons, alternatives — explains which organization tends to suit whom, without ever declaring one better.
The database currently holds 185 organizations, 686 current published requirements, 341 disclosed fee figures, 874 chapters and 1115 sources, across 24 categories.
Wat dit niet is
It is not a broker. No organization pays to appear, to be ranked, or to be described in a particular way; where a referral or sponsorship relationship exists it is labelled at the point of use and described in the affiliate disclosure. It is not an advice service — nothing here is a recommendation to join anything, and eligibility and admission decisions belong entirely to each organization. And it is not a content farm: an organization gets a page because it is real and researched, a city gets a page only when enough organizations have a verified presence there, and a comparison is indexed only when it carries an editorial reading.
Hoe de gegevens worden opgebouwd
A record starts from primary material — the organization's own membership pages, application documents, published dues, annual reports and filings — and is filled out from reporting by named publications. Every material figure carries a source, a verification date and a confidence level. Fields the organization does not publish are marked Not publicly disclosed; figures that circulate but could not be traced to a reliable source are marked Could not be independently verified. A dash is a deliberate statement, not a gap.
Requirements and fees are the most perishable facts on the site and are versioned: when a threshold or a fee changes, the old row is closed and kept, the new one is added, and the change appears in the public change log. Nothing is silently overwritten. Full detail is in the methodology.
Organisaties en het register
Verified representatives can claim a profile and submit corrections, updated fees and criteria, chapter information and approved material. Submissions are reviewed by an editor and, if accepted, labelled as supplied by the organization; they never overwrite independent research, never change a ranking and never affect eligibility analysis. Every change has an audit trail.
Fotografie
Every image on the site is a photograph of a real place or a real organization — a city, a clubhouse, a building, a dinner — licensed from Wikimedia Commons and other collections whose licences permit this use, and each carries its creator, source and licence beside it. A photograph is attached to an organization only when it shows that organization; where no licensed photograph of an organization exists, its page carries none rather than a stand-in. No image is generated.
Talen
The interface is available in sixteen languages. The records and editorial content are written in English; interface translation is machine-generated, so where a translated label reads oddly the English is authoritative. Legal pages remain in English deliberately.
