Editorial policy
Who decides what appears, what separates a fact from an opinion here, how commercial relationships are kept away from both, and what happens when we get something wrong.
Independence
Editorial decisions are made solely by the editors. No organization, membership company, club, agency or referral partner has any influence over which organizations are covered, how they are described, how they are ranked, or how the qualification tool assesses eligibility. Nobody can buy an editorial ranking, a comparison verdict, a place in "similar organizations", or a change to independent research.
Where the site is compensated — a referral commission, a sponsored profile, advertising — the relationship is disclosed at the point of use with a label, listed on the affiliate disclosure page, and stored in tables that no editorial or ranking query reads. Sponsored placement, where it exists, is labelled and sits outside any ranked order.
Fact and opinion
The two are kept structurally separate. Facts live in the database with a source, a verification date and a confidence level, and are rendered as records, tables and ledgers. Opinion appears only in clearly marked editorial sections — the reading of who each organization suits on a comparison page, the rationale in a guide, the "independent context" paragraph on a profile — and is written as opinion with reasoning attached. The site does not declare one organization better than another; it describes fit.
Descriptions
Organization descriptions are written by the editors from the record and from independent reporting. They do not reproduce the organization's marketing language, and they say what is distinctive, what the trade-offs are, and what is unclear. Where an organization disagrees with a description it may say so through the corrections process, and material disagreement is recorded on the page.
Organization-supplied information
Verified representatives can submit updated fees, criteria, chapters and contact details. Submissions are reviewed against sources, and if accepted are shown labelled as supplied by the organization. They never overwrite independently researched fields, never alter rankings or eligibility analysis, and every accepted change is written to the public change log with an audit trail.
Reviews
Member reviews are not yet published. When they are, every reviewer will state their relationship to the organization (current member, former member, applicant or guest), reviews will be moderated before publication, no review will be published that makes an accusation against an identifiable individual, and no sensitive personal membership information will be exposed without permission.
Gifts, hospitality and access
Editors do not accept complimentary memberships, event access or hospitality from organizations covered. Where access has been granted for research it is stated on the page. Access is not a reason to soften a description and is not a promise of coverage.
Corrections
Errors of fact are corrected as soon as they are confirmed, and the page's verification date is updated. Substantive corrections are recorded in the public change log with the previous value rather than silently overwritten. Accurate published information is not withdrawn on request. See the corrections policy.
AI
AI assistance is used in research, cross-checking and interface translation. It is never used to write a fact into the database that no source supports, to write a verdict or ranking, or to produce an image. The site's own AI feature, Ask the Data, answers only from the database and is instructed to say when it holds nothing.
