آلية القبول

Application process

Someone who meets the billionaire threshold and is ready to make the public commitment contacts the Giving Pledge to express interest. There is no published application form, review committee, sponsorship requirement or interview stage. In the early years Gates, French Gates and Buffett recruited signatories directly. Signatories usually publish a letter on the Giving Pledge website when they join.

Not publicly disclosed: no acceptance rate or vetting process is published. The threshold is the billion-dollar net worth test plus willingness to make the commitment publicly.

Individuals and couples with a net worth of at least one billion dollars, or who would be billionaires but for their giving

العضو النموذجي

Signatories are billionaires and billionaire couples who have publicly committed to give the majority of their wealth to philanthropy during their lifetime or in their wills. Most publish a signed letter explaining their reasoning. A separate Next Generation group, created in 2014, has more than 300 active members worldwide aged 18 to 75, drawn from the children and grandchildren of signatories; their identities are not disclosed because they did not personally sign the pledge.
