Institute for Private Investors
Ultra-high-net-worth principals, families of substantial wealth, family office executives and private investors in North America
Fondazione — Sources disagree. Wikipedia gives 1991 (formally incorporated 1997) and Campden Wealth says IPI has "roots dating to 1991"; the IPI homepage says 1995 and the IPI membership overview says 1992. Recorded as 1991 as the earliest and most corroborated date.
The Institute for Private Investors is a membership community for ultra-high-net-worth families and the executives who manage their capital, founded by Charlotte Beyer and now a wholly owned subsidiary of Campden Wealth. Its stated purpose is non-commercial investor education and peer exchange: IPI has historically taken revenue from dues and course fees rather than from selling investment products, and professional members such as registered advisers are admitted on terms that restrict direct solicitation of investor members. Membership is described as by invitation only, with a published minimum of USD 30 million in assets and all applications subject to approval. Members choose between an individual membership covering the principal wealth holder and a family membership that also covers family members and family office executives. Programming includes regional and local workshops, social events, co-investment roundtables, a Next Generation track, a Women and Wealth track, an AI event series, and the Memberlink online community. Members also receive Campden Wealth research, including the Global Family Office Report. IPI does not publish dues.
Come funziona
Qualified applicants apply through IPI's portal and are approved before joining. Members attend regional and local workshops, social gatherings and co-investment roundtables, and participate year-round in the Memberlink online community. Dedicated tracks serve next-generation members and women members. A long-standing residential education programme run with the Wharton School sits alongside the events calendar. Membership can be taken at individual or family level, the latter covering up to two attendees per event.
Socio tipico
IPI states a minimum of USD 30 million in assets to qualify and reports that members' average liquid holdings exceed USD 300 million. More than 48 per cent of members have belonged for ten years or longer.

Struttura e programmazione
Contesto indipendente
IPI's distinguishing claim is that it sells nothing but education and access - a positioning that matters in a category crowded with networks monetising introductions to capital. The published USD 30 million floor is unusually explicit for a family office network, though secondary write-ups quoting a USD 100 million bar appear to describe the typical member rather than the stated rule, and the two should not be conflated. Retention is the strongest evidence of value: nearly half the membership has stayed a decade or more. The main caution is corporate: IPI is now one arm of Campden Wealth, so its independence from Campden's commercial research and events business is a matter of internal policy rather than separate ownership. Founding-year claims vary across IPI's and Campden's own pages.
