Founding: The organisation describes itself as Florida's longest-running angel investor syndicate, founded in 2003. Its About page dates its capital-deployed figure from 2014 rather than 2003.

New World Angels is a Boca Raton angel investor syndicate founded in 2003 that invests across Florida from pre-seed to Series A and syndicates with venture firms nationally. It publishes its terms plainly: annual dues are $2,750, and members agree to invest up to $20,000 a year in the group's mandatory investments, on top of any individual allocations. Membership requires accredited-investor status and a formal application, and prospective members are invited to attend a member meeting as a guest first. The group reports more than 100 active investors and more than $30 million deployed since 2014, and organises itself by industry vertical rather than geography, with groups covering healthcare, information technology, manufacturing, consumer products, and space and defence. It launched an Innovation Fund in April 2024 to write pre-seed cheques. In March 2026 it combined with Miami Angels, taking on roughly 65 further members and creating a statewide platform with more than $65 million collectively deployed and 35 years of combined operating history.

How it works

Companies apply through the group's Dealum portal. Members review several hundred opportunities a year, choosing their own level of involvement from sourcing and evaluation through to negotiating terms and supporting portfolio companies. Members commit to fund the group's mandatory investments up to $20,000 a year and may invest more individually. A separate Innovation Fund writes pre-seed cheques. Industry vertical groups organise diligence in healthcare, IT, manufacturing, consumer products and space and defence.

Typical member

Members are described as accomplished business leaders, entrepreneurs, operators and investment professionals across industries. Backgrounds span consumer products, healthcare and medical technology, industrial and manufacturing technology, information technology, space and defence, and, since the Miami Angels combination, financial industry innovation.

Requirements are the tests the organization itself publishes: an age ceiling, a company-revenue floor, a net-worth minimum, a role. Where a figure straddles a range, the organization's own assessment decides. Local chapters can apply stricter tests than the published standard.

Independent context

New World Angels is the most demanding organisation in this batch on a published basis: it is the only one that both names its dues and states an annual investment obligation, at $2,750 and up to $20,000 respectively. That combination filters for members who will actually deploy, which is the opposite of Houston Angel Network's explicit no-minimum stance and worth weighing carefully, since the $20,000 goes into investments the group selects rather than deals the member picks. The 2026 absorption of Miami Angels gives it genuine statewide reach and removes the main Florida alternative, so investors in the Miami corridor now have fewer independent options. The organisation's own numbers are slightly inconsistent: it claims a 2003 founding and 20-plus years of investing but dates $30m of capital deployed to 2014, which suggests the earlier period was much smaller or is not counted.
