Women Moving Millions membership requirements

Every criterion Women Moving Millions publishes, with its source, the date it was verified and how confident we are in it — plus superseded figures, so you can see how the tests have moved.

Read a requirement as the organization's published floor, not as a promise. A revenue test may have alternative versions for different business types, chapters can set stricter local tests, and invitation-only bodies publish criteria that describe members rather than admit them.

Other criterion Individual members make a minimum commitment of $1 million over ten years to organisations or initiatives that benefit women and girls This is a giving commitment to third parties chosen by the member, not a payment to WMM. Qualifying contributions include philanthropic giving to 501(c)(3) organisations, political advocacy giving to 501(c)(4) social welfare organisations or global equivalents, and investing in women-led business ventures aimed at benefiting women and girls. The commitment must carry an explicit and clear gender lens. Verified September 2026High confidenceSource ↗
Gender The community is built around women philanthropists and investors WMM describes itself as a community of women; it does not publish a formal exclusionary rule. Verified September 2026Medium confidenceSource ↗

How admission works

Application process
Prospective individual members contact WMM to discuss criteria, benefits and process; NextGen and Family applicants complete downloadable application forms published on the community page. WMM publishes a membership brochure. No review committee, interview stage, sponsorship requirement or acceptance criteria beyond the commitment level are described publicly.
Invitation required
No
Sponsor required
— not documented by the organization or a source we could verify
Selectivity
Not publicly disclosed — WMM publishes no acceptance rate or review process. The effective filter is the $1 million ten-year giving commitment rather than a screening committee.
Membership term
Annual contribution, alongside a ten-year giving commitment
Primary audience
Women with significant personal wealth who are willing to commit at least $1 million over ten years to organisations and initiatives benefiting women and girls, plus their families and next-generation family members
Typical member
Individual members are women philanthropists and investors who have made a formal commitment of $1 million or more over ten years with an explicit gender lens. Separate Family and NextGen tiers exist at lower annual contribution levels; WMM does not publish whether those tiers carry the same $1 million commitment. The community includes donors, impact investors and political advocacy funders.
