Vistage

CEOs, business owners and senior executives of companies with US$5 million or more in annual revenue.

EO and Vistage are often shortlisted together by owners of companies in the low millions, and the records show they are different kinds of organization. EO is a member-governed association: owners and founders with US$1 million in revenue apply to a chapter, are interviewed by members, and pay published global dues (US$2,470) and initiation (US$3,500) plus unpublished chapter dues. Vistage is a company, owned by private-equity investors since 2022, whose Chairs are independent contractors who recruit, select and facilitate their own groups of twelve to sixteen executives and provide one-to-one coaching; its core CEO programme is framed around companies of US$5 million or more, and it publishes no price.

The consequence is that EO's experience is shaped by the chapter and Vistage's by the individual Chair. EO's forum is a peer group of equals with a member as moderator; a Vistage group has a paid professional in the chair and a coaching relationship attached. Neither publishes selection statistics.

Primary audience Owners, founders and majority stakeholders of companies with at least US$1 million of annual revenue. CEOs, business owners and senior executives of companies with US$5 million or more in annual revenue.
Miembro tipo Members are business owners rather than hired executives, and must hold controlling or majority ownership. EO states its member companies' median annual revenue is US$4 million, so the typical member runs a company well above the US$1 million entry threshold but far below YPO-scale businesses. Members are decision-makers at small and mid-sized private companies. Vistage frames its core member as generating "$5M+ in annual revenue" and facing the operational complexity that comes with that scale; separate programmes exist for non-CEO executives and emerging leaders.

Cuál es más adecuado y para quién

Análisis editorial, separado del registro anterior. Sigue el metodología. No se declara superior ninguna organización; la cuestión es la adecuación.

EO tends to suit founders and owners who want a peer community they belong to rather than a programme they buy (the forum, the chapter's social and learning calendar, the global events) and who are content with a member-moderated room. The published price makes it the easier of the two to budget for.

Vistage tends to suit chief executives who want facilitation and coaching from a professional, who value a group drawn from non-competing industries more than a community, and who are prepared to evaluate the specific Chair before joining, since that person is the product. Executives who do not own their company can join Vistage but not EO; owners well under US$5 million in revenue may find EO the only one of the two whose published profile they fit.
