No chapters; the community is organised in annual classes rather than local chapters
Primary audience People in their twenties to early forties who control or will control significant wealth (inheritors, next-generation philanthropists and impact investors) together with social entrepreneurs, philanthropic advisers and young public-sector leaders Leaders under 40 drawn from business, government, civil society, academia, media, the arts and social enterprise
Typisches Mitglied NEXUS deliberately mixes wealth-holders with the people they might fund. Its Australian chapter publishes the target ratio: roughly 50 per cent wealth holders including next-generation philanthropists, inheritors and impact investors; 30 per cent social change makers; 15 per cent corporate funders, impact investors and philanthropic advisers; and 5 per cent young leaders in public service. Most participants are between 15 and 40, with up to 10 per cent of places reserved for mentors and allies over 40. Members are selected in annual classes of roughly 100-120 people under the age of 40 and include ministers, heads of state, chief executives, founders, scientists, journalists and artists. The Class of 2026 comprised 118 leaders from 55 countries.

Application process Applications open three to four months before each summit. Candidates apply online or are invited, and the NEXUS Organizing Committee reviews within weeks against member referrals, personal and professional background, diversity and the target composition ratios. NEXUS describes the process as highly selective, with far more applications than places. Acceptance plus attendance at the multi-day summit confers membership for three years. Existing members are not guaranteed a seat at future summits. There is no application. Candidates are nominated by World Economic Forum members and partners; the site states plainly that nomination is not open to the general public and that unsolicited applications are not accepted. Nominees are then assessed against the Forum's criteria. The Forum's published criteria document describes shortlisted candidates being evaluated by the executive search firm Heidrick & Struggles and finally screened by a selection committee. Nominations for a given class close in the spring of the preceding year.
Selectivity NEXUS states applications significantly exceed available spots and that a quality application does not guarantee admission, noting that it has 6,000+ members while its largest Global Summit seats only 700. No acceptance rate is published. The Forum states that roughly 100 people are selected each year "from thousands of candidates worldwide"; no acceptance rate is published. The Class of 2026 numbered 118 from 55 countries.
