Founding — Casa Cipriani New York opened in 2021 in the landmark Battery Maritime Building at 10 South Street. The club is an extension of the Cipriani family hospitality business, which dates its origins to Giuseppe Cipriani's opening of Harry's Bar in Venice on May 13, 1931.

Casa Cipriani is a private members' club run by the Cipriani family hospitality group, with clubs in New York and Milan and a Miami site announced. The New York club opened in 2021 inside the landmark Battery Maritime Building at 10 South Street on the southern tip of Manhattan, and combines club rooms and restaurants with a hotel of twenty-eight guestrooms and nineteen suites, a wellness floor with a gym, studio, steam rooms, saunas, cryotherapy and a spa. Casa Cipriani Milano occupies a historic building in Porta Venezia at Via Palestro 24, with fifteen rooms and suites, a restaurant and terrace overlooking the Indro Montanelli Gardens, and a spa. Membership is sold on a city or global basis and by age: junior rates apply to those under 30, and Global membership covers New York, Milan and all future clubs. A limited number of invitation-only Global Lifetime memberships cover a member and their partner for life. The club publishes its full fee schedule on its member portals.

How it works

Applications are made through the club's member portals, which set out the tiers and their fees and lead to an application form. Members use the clubs for dining, wellness and events; hotel rooms and suites are available at both sites, and the club runs a programme of cultural, social and corporate events. Global tiers extend access from one city to both and to future openings.

Typical member

The club characterises its community by breadth rather than by profession or wealth band, and markets to business and leisure travellers who want a base in both cities. No occupational or financial test is published.

Requirements are the tests the organization itself publishes — an age ceiling, a company-revenue floor, a net-worth minimum, a role. Where a figure straddles a range, the organization's own assessment decides. Local chapters can apply stricter tests than the published standard.

Independent context

Casa Cipriani is one of the clearest fee disclosures in this category: four named tiers with initiation and annual figures published for both cities, in dollars for New York and Global tiers and in euros for Milan-only tiers, exclusive of VAT. It is also among the cheaper clubs of its type, which reflects a different proposition: the club is attached to a hotel and a restaurant business, and the membership buys a base rather than a programme. There is no published committee, sponsorship requirement, acceptance rate or member count, and no description of how candidates are assessed, so selectivity cannot be judged from the outside. The Miami site has been listed as coming soon without a date.
