Family Office Association

Family Office Association is a Greenwich, Connecticut membership organisation for single family offices and ultra-high-net-worth families, founded by Angelo Robles in the late 2000s. It describes itself as an affinity group dedicated primarily to the interests of single family offices, and states explicitly that it does not offer investment, tax or legal advice and does not participate in the offer or sale of securities. Membership is structured in three tiers. Family Office membership is aimed at families typically exceeding USD 100 million in assets under management with an established or forming family office. On the Rise membership admits individuals and families on a clear trajectory toward significant wealth who are committed to building a family office equivalent. Innovator membership is for companies from seed through Series C and beyond, and requires either an invitation from an existing member or a formal application with reference checks. Programming runs through events, an insights library covering wealth management, family governance, philanthropy and legacy, a Resource Council of subject specialists, and Peer Communities on themes such as global impact, technology and innovation, and sports and entertainment. FOA publishes no membership prices.

The organisation is also unusual in admitting companies seeking capital as a paying membership tier, which sits uneasily beside the solicitation-free posture that networks like CCC Alliance sell on - families joining should understand that some fellow members are there to raise money. The 2023 departure of founder Angelo Robles after a control dispute is a real discontinuity: the group that exists today is under different ownership from the one he built, and its current size is not disclosed.
