Fundación — Not publicly disclosed. G100's own milestone timeline begins in 2003, when Scott Miller, David Niles and Daniel Casse "consolidate ownership and reenergize G100" — wording that implies the programme already existed. The flagship CEO programme page says it has convened CEOs "for more than 15 years". Jack Welch, Larry Bossidy and Michael Dell are named as founding members.

G100 is an invitation-only peer network for chief executives and other senior corporate leaders, run as a commercial convening and development company. Its flagship programme brings together more than 100 chief executives twice a year in New York, with an occasional session in Silicon Valley, for confidential discussion of strategy, operations, talent and the forces changing business. Meetings are closed to the press and public, members frequently suggest or lead the sessions, and each member may bring one fellow chief executive as a guest. Around that core sit several separate membership programmes: the G100 Talent Consortium for senior HR leaders, launched in 2012 at the request of CEO members; G100 Next Generation Leadership, a CEO-led development programme launched in 2010; G100 BoardExcellence for board chairs and directors, launched in 2017; G100 Women's Leadership Acceleration, which began as the G100 Women's Network in 2016; and the Transformational Leaders Network, launched in 2019. G100 states plainly that it is not a lobbying organisation or trade group and does not seek consensus on issues. It joined the World 50 ecosystem in 2020.

Cómo funciona

The flagship CEO programme meets twice a year in New York plus an occasional Silicon Valley session, with agendas set largely by members and chaired by senior figures from inside and outside the membership. Meetings are strictly confidential and closed to press and public, and members receive curated pre-reading and post-meeting playbooks capturing themes and takeaways. The other programmes run their own calendars of digital and in-person meetings for their respective audiences.

Miembro tipo

The flagship programme is limited to sitting chief executives of large public and private companies; named session chairs have included the chief executives of General Motors, Apple and Bank of America. Other programmes serve senior HR leaders, board chairs and directors, high-potential women executives, and next-generation leaders nominated by their companies.

Contexto independiente

G100 is the highest-altitude commercial peer group in this set: its flagship is limited to sitting chief executives of large companies, meets only twice a year, and is explicitly not a policy body, which distinguishes it from Business Roundtable and from The Business Council. The structure worth understanding is that G100 is a family of separate programmes rather than one membership, and companies typically buy into several at once — the Talent Consortium exists precisely because CEO members wanted their HR leaders in an aligned programme. Two things are opaque. G100 publishes no founding date and no fees for any programme, and since joining the World 50 ecosystem in 2020 the boundary between the two organisations has blurred: the published headquarters is now World 50's Atlanta office, and their leadership-acceleration programmes were merged into a shared NEXT Platform in 2021.
