요건은 단체가 공개한 최저 기준으로 읽어야 하며, 보장으로 해석해서는 안 된다. 매출 기준은 사업 유형에 따라 대안적 버전이 있을 수 있고, 챕터는 더 엄격한 현지 기준을 적용할 수 있으며, 초청 전용 단체는 허가 기준이 아니라 회원을 설명하는 기준을 공개한다.

Helm's published threshold has moved: City A.M. reported in March 2024 that members ran businesses with more than £1 million in revenue, while Helm's current qualification panel states £3 million or more (or more than £3 million raised) and about 20 full-time staff.

입회 절차

Application process

A short application form (Helm says two to five minutes), then a 30-minute qualifying call with the membership team to check fit and identify a suitable Forum. Helm describes committee approval within about 48 hours, followed by a 45-minute onboarding call. Forum placement follows an introductory conversation with the prospective Forum Chair and happens within one to three months of joining.

Primary audience

Founders and CEOs of UK scale-up businesses past about £3 million in revenue

Members are founders and CEOs of UK scale-ups, with average member turnover of about £21 million according to Helm's own comparison page. Businesses span SaaS, deep tech, biotech, property, manufacturing and retail. Non-founder executives, advisers and service providers are explicitly not admitted.
