Young Entrepreneur Council membership requirements

Every criterion Young Entrepreneur Council publishes, with its source, the date it was verified and how confident we are in it, plus superseded figures, so you can see how the tests have moved.

Read a requirement as the organization's published floor, not as a promise. A revenue test may have alternative versions for different business types, chapters can set stricter local tests, and invitation-only bodies publish criteria that describe members rather than admit them.

Role or title "founders, co-founders, CEOs, and builders who are in the arena right now" The FAQ adds "Young is the mind, not the age", indicating the historical age ceiling is no longer applied as a published test Verified September 2026High confidenceSource ↗
Other criterion "Membership is decided through a short application, a conversation, and a review by YEC leadership. We are reading for fit and contribution, not credentials." YEC's current site publishes no revenue, funding, exit or age threshold Verified September 2026High confidenceSource ↗

No numeric eligibility test is currently published. Third-party sources describe a historical under-45 age limit with a US$1m revenue or funding test, or a business sold for at least US$2m in the previous three years; these could not be confirmed on YEC's own current pages.

How admission works

Application process
A short form starts the process, followed by email confirmation and then the full application. YEC states that a person reads every application and that applicants hear back either way. Shortlisted candidates complete an interview, which YEC frames as a two-way assessment of fit. Applicants may indicate that a member referred them.
Invitation required

Selectivity
Not publicly disclosed. YEC states applications are reviewed against "the same bar the members built" but publishes no acceptance rate.
Membership term
Not documented by the organization or a source we could verify
Primary audience
Founders, co-founders, CEOs and operators building a company now, screened for fit and contribution rather than a published financial threshold
Typical member
Founders, co-founders, CEOs and builders currently running a business. The FAQ states "Young is the mind, not the age", so the historical under-45 rule is no longer presented as a test. YEC does not publish revenue, funding or exit thresholds on its current site.
