New York Angels

New York Angels is a New York City angel investment group founded in 2004 and a charter member of the Angel Capital Association. It has over 135 active members, all accredited investors, drawn from operating executive, entrepreneurial, financial and medical backgrounds. The group receives more than 1,000 funding applications a year, sourced largely through the Gust platform, and typically participates in rounds of USD 100,000 to USD 1.5 million. Members evaluate companies collaboratively - sourcing, due diligence and post-investment support including board seats and advisory roles - but invest as individuals rather than through a pooled fund. The group's published membership criteria are accredited-investor status under SEC rules and active participation in at least one New York Angels portfolio investment each year; a membership committee reviews applications on what it describes as a holistic basis.
