Fondation — Founded by Natalia Oberti Noguera; originally known as the Pipeline Fellowship.
Pipeline Angels is an angel network and investor-training organisation founded in 2011 by Natalia Oberti Noguera, originally as the Pipeline Fellowship. Its purpose is to widen the pool of angel investors and direct capital toward founders who are overlooked by conventional venture funding, with an emphasis on women and non-binary founders. The core product is the Angels-in-the-Making training programme: a three-day workshop covering bias in investing, due diligence, valuation and impact investing, followed by a pitch summit, founder interviews and a collective investment decision. Each participant commits a minimum of $5,000 to invest in a company the cohort selects together, so the training ends in a real investment rather than a simulation. Participation requires accredited-investor status under SEC rules. Cohorts run virtually. The organisation reports more than 550 people trained, more than 130 companies backed by its community and more than $7 million invested. It was acquired in July 2023 by the Institute for Entrepreneurial Leadership and now operates from Newark, New Jersey.
Comment ça fonctionne
Applicants apply online on a rolling basis with priority deadlines for each cohort. Admitted participants take a three-day virtual workshop, then run a pitch summit at which for-profit social ventures present, conduct due diligence, interview founders and decide as a class which company to back. Each participant wires at least $5,000 into that investment. Alumni join the wider community and continue to see dealflow calls.
Membre type
Participants are accredited investors, largely new to angel investing, with an interest in group learning and social entrepreneurship. The network was built around the observation that a small share of US angel investors are women of colour and a small share of venture funding goes to all-women teams.

Lorsqu'un chiffre se situe à la limite d'une tranche, c'est l'appréciation de l'organisation qui prévaut. Les sections locales peuvent appliquer des critères plus stricts que le standard publié.

Structure et programmation
Contexte indépendant
Pipeline Angels sits between an angel group and a training programme, and the $5,000 minimum makes it the cheapest structured route to a first angel cheque of any organisation in this batch. The design is deliberate: the cohort invests together in one company, so participants learn diligence and negotiation on a live deal, but they end with a single, concentrated position rather than a portfolio. Anyone looking for ongoing dealflow across many companies will find this closer to a course than to a standing investment club. The accredited-investor requirement still applies, so the barrier is regulatory rather than financial scale. The 2023 acquisition by IFEL is material: the organisation's founder-led identity has changed, and the current site does not separate Pipeline Angels' own figures from IFEL's programming as clearly as it once did. Programme tuition is not published.
