TEC Canada
Canadian CEOs, presidents, owners and senior executives, sorted into four programme tiers by role and company stage
A profile page holds what the organization publishes and what named sources report: who it admits, what it costs, how it is structured, where it operates, and how it has changed. Every figure carries the date it was checked. A dash means the organization does not publish that fact.
Founding — TEC Canada's own history page: "The TEC Canada story began in 1985, when Dr. Lynn Tanner brought the peer advisory model to Canada." The underlying TEC format dates to 1957 in Milwaukee.
TEC Canada is the Canadian arm of the peer-advisory format created as The Executive Committee in Milwaukee in 1957 and now operated globally as Vistage. Dr. Lynn Tanner brought the model to Canada in 1985 and built it into what Vistage described as one of its longest-standing licensees; Vistage acquired TEC Canada outright on 12 May 2026. The organisation runs four programmes: TEC CEO for chief executives, presidents and owners; KEY Executive for senior executives below CEO; TEC Small Business for owner-operators; and TEC Advancing Leaders for managers and high-potential staff, which is sold to companies as a development programme rather than to individuals. The core format follows the Vistage template - a monthly confidential group meeting led by a TEC Chair, a separate monthly one-to-one coaching session with that Chair, and access to expert speakers and an online learning library. Members also join the Vistage global network, which TEC puts at more than 45,000 business leaders. TEC Canada is headquartered in Calgary.
How it works
Applicants are matched to a programme and a group by organisational size, stage of development and competitive landscape, so that no direct competitors sit together. Groups meet monthly under a TEC Chair, an experienced former executive who also delivers one-to-one coaching. Members attend speaker sessions, a national member conference and can search the combined TEC/Vistage member base through an online Networks platform.
Typical member
Members are chief executives, owners and senior executives of Canadian companies across a wide size range, from small-business owners in the TEC Small Business programme to leaders of large enterprises in TEC CEO. TEC Canada publishes no revenue or headcount threshold and no member demographics.
Membership requirements
Requirements in detail, with history →Requirements are the tests the organization itself publishes — an age ceiling, a company-revenue floor, a net-worth minimum, a role. Where a figure straddles a range, the organization's own assessment decides. Local chapters can apply stricter tests than the published standard.

Initiation fees are paid once on joining; dues recur. Chapter dues, retreats, travel and events are usually additional and are listed separately when the organization discloses them. Figures are as published or reported on the date shown — not quotations.
| Cost | First year | Three years | Provenance |

| Annual dues | Not publicly disclosed. TEC Canada quotes pricing only after an application, and says the figure depends on which programme the applicant qualifies for. Third-party estimates differ sharply: an executive-coaching firm puts CEO membership at roughly $1,500-$2,000+ CAD a month, while the Peer Resources directory gives $2,820-$13,000 a year across TEC/Vistage tiers. Neither is an organisation disclosure. | Source ↗ | |

Independent context
Two things matter for anyone evaluating TEC Canada in 2026. First, ownership: it spent four decades as an independent licensee and became a Vistage subsidiary in May 2026, so the local autonomy that distinguished it from Vistage's own operations is now a matter of integration policy rather than structure. Second, price: TEC publishes none. Applicants are quoted a figure only after applying, and the third-party estimates in circulation - roughly $1,500-$2,000+ a month for CEOs from one executive-coaching site, $2,820-$13,000 a year from the Peer Resources directory - are wide apart and neither is authoritative. The member statistics on TEC's own site are also inconsistent between pages. The strongest part of the offer is the Chair relationship: a monthly group day plus a separate monthly one-to-one is far more contact time than the quarterly-meeting models, and correspondingly more expensive in both money and calendar.
