Philanthropie in London
London has its own vocabulary for this market — clubs rather than networks, subscriptions rather than dues, proposers and seconders rather than applications — and the largest concentration of private members' clubs anywhere. The traditional clubs of St James's and Mayfair, the arts and creative clubs of Soho, and the hotel-based and entrepreneur-focused clubs opened over the last two decades sit alongside the London chapters of the international peer organizations: YPO's London chapters, EO London, Hampton's London chapter, WPO's London chapter, and Founders Forum's invitation-only gatherings. The founder communities and the UK industry bodies — UK Private Capital, Level 20, the Institute of Directors — add a professional layer. Joining fees and subscriptions are published by only a minority of clubs; where a figure has been reported by a named publication it is shown as reported.
