Entrepreneur networks in San Francisco
The Bay Area's organizations are shaped by venture capital: founder communities and angel groups are stronger here than anywhere else, the peer-group chapters skew toward technology, and several organizations that are virtual elsewhere hold their in-person events in San Francisco. EO has two chapters in the region, TIGER 21 and Hampton run San Francisco groups, and the angel groups (the Band of Angels, Sand Hill Angels, Harvard Business School Alumni Angels' Northern California chapter, Keiretsu Forum) screen more early-stage companies than any other city's. The historic clubs on Nob Hill remain among the most selective in the country and publish almost nothing; the newer clubs south of Market position themselves for founders. Silicon Valley and Peninsula chapters are listed under San Francisco.
